MAGE OF HOPE
PROSPIT DREAMER
Potentially Inevitable

I tried to go to sleep but I’m just lying here thinking about single dwarf mothers teaching their daughters how to braid their beards for the first time

Why has every WoW-related post on my dashboard for the past two days been about black blood elves

a popular artist received a gift with a game model toned to her character, it was a dark skinned elf, and there were those who tried to explain how dark skinned elves couldn’t exist.  the patrons of tumblr reacted.

as a player of dark skinned blood elves myself who has been advocating for them, as well as a PoC, i find it frustrating to receive correction considering how my toons can magically summon dragons and food at a flick of the wrist and live in skycities and slay gods and fight demons and time travel.  it makes the PoC issue a nonissue.

Pasty white blood elves are literally the worst kind of blood elves though

Everything about this makes me sad

i wouldn’t say that they’re the worst, i also play pasty white characters.and i do adore them

but there will always be a special place in my heart for azjal and anjal

and i am so glad that i insisted that they not be the quintessential elf

i made characters to which i could relate, characters with features not represented, and these features don’t make them better or worse than someone not of their skin tone, because in the end they are blood elves like the others, who suffer the same blood elf plights, and exist in the blood elf culture, but to say that they can’t exist in this medium is to further perpetuate the whitewashing we as gamers already endure.

I with my Skyspyre twins and Lobstermourne with their character “Leon”, as well as the others out there with their characters, deserve the right to exist.  When the game was in conception, PoC voices weren’t heard, so PoC characters weren’t seen unless as cliches or gimmicks and that was still few and far between.  But we’re in 2014, and these voices can no longer be ignored.

Remus Lupin is early this year. He feels… good.

Last year at this time, the moon had been very near full. He’d been tired, stressed, exhausted, nervous, anxious—a whole bundle of unfortunate feelings. But now he’s a week out of his transformation, recovered (though there’s a nice new scar on his wrist that nearly lost him all mobility in his wand hand), and actually excited to see his friends again.

Did you actually look up the full moon phases for September in 1971

more like i have a website bookmarked that lets me punch in any month between 2014 and 1951 and it gives me the phases of the moon for that month….

Marauders fandom too hardcore

  1. no the wow fans did. “BELFS CAN’T BE BLACK!!!!!!” rpg fans being white pissbabies, you get used to it
  2. iono it’s been a topic on conversation in the wow fandom. idk what sparked it. some people talkin bout how different skin tones might be an option in wow?
Ok I got it, I think. So it’s just RP realm business as usual.
'course, Blizzard isn't going to give us black elves we've never seen when they won't even give us Mag'har or Dark Irons. But that never stops us from roleplaying those anyways.
